Bay Island (steam Tug)
Originally christened the Crest (1 900), a cooperative of farmers bought the 84 ton steam tug in 1912 and refitted and renamed her Bay Island. Bay Island ran a ten stop milk-run between Arietta and Tacoma. In 1926 she was bought by Elmer Stone. Stone converted the Bay Island into a tug. In 1928 she sank half way between Mukilteo and Everett (Barnard 1984, Gibbs 1955, 1981, Newell 1966, Sobay 1975, Straub 1979).
