Mahukona (freighter)
In December the Matson freighter Mahukona, Capt E. A. Center, followed the course of the barkentine Forest Friend to load lumber at Taylor's Mill, Lake Washington. One of three Matson vessels then engaged exclusively in carrying lumber from Northwest ports to the islands, she was the first steamship to take cargo on Lake Washington for Hawaii.Gordon Newell, Maritime events of 1924, H.W.
