Maria E. Smith (schooner)
The schooner Maria E. Smith of 365 tons, was built at Port Blakely by Hall Bros. in 1881 for James Tuft, San Francisco, and was afloat in 1900. John Lyman, Pacific Coast Built Sailers, 1850-1905, The Marine Digest. June 21, 1941, p. 2. Mr. Lyman wrote later that the Smith was abandoned at sea on July 12, 1904.
