Matterhorn (bark)
British iron four-masted bark, 1,839 tons, Captain R. I. Salter, foundered April 27, 1909, 70 miles off Umatilla Reef, Washington, bound from Portland, Oregon, to Ipswich, England, with grain. The mate, steward, four seamen drowned. The Matterhom was built by Russell & Company for C.E. DeWolf & Co. of Liverpool, in 1882, and was 266 feet long.
