Mountaineer (steam Tug)
The steam tug Mountaineer of the Everett City Tug Boat Co., and the lumber schooner Wilbert L. Smith collided during a heavy fog in Everett harbor on March 16, 1911. The schooner, lumber-laden for Callao, was not damaged, but the tug sustained considerable injury, her stern being shattered, starboard bulwarks wrecked, and boiler shiftedforward eight inches, and the deckhouse knocked out of plumb. Capt. H. Bardman and Engineer E. W. Davis of the Mountaineer were severely scalded as a result of steam pipes breaking. Gordon Newell, Maritime Events of 1911, H.W.
