Nome (gas Scow)
In 1929 Frank Berry's 9 ton wooden gas scow Nome became stranded in Commencement Bay. She measured 29.8 ft in length, was 9.8 ft wide and had a 4.1 ft depth. Nome was powered by a 30 horsepower engine (Firemen's Insurance Company 1928, Straub 1979).
