Portovan (tug)
Straits Towing & Salvage Ltd. purchased a twin to the 40-foot steel tug Portovan in Montreal and brought her to Vancouver as the Harvan. This firm was most active in salvage operations in 1947, its accomplishments including the refloating of the British freighter Fort Reliance from the Fraser River sandheads by five of its tugs.
