San Mateo (steam Collier)
The steam collier San Mateo was also added to the Northwestern fleet. She was purchased in London and came out by way of Hongkong, calling at Honolulu, where she was registered under the Hawaiian flag. She is still in the coal trade, and narrowly escaped destruction by an explosion of coal dust in 1894. E. W.
